It was very exciting to film this event. The clip is part of a two-hour documentary entitled Portrait of Castro's Cuba that I made for Turner Broadcasting back then. Ted Turner was attempting to get permission to bring Turner Broadcasting to Cuba and he figured out how to do it. Make a documentary that was subtly critical and not so subtly complementary. You will find other clips from the documentary on my YouTube channel. We got to visit some amazing places.

The entire 30 min. film is a musical written by a Broadway composer. The film suggested those overweight give up Hungarian goulash. I don't know who ate or eats Hungarian goulash but I came up with this idea of dancing around with the camera. The actress is Madeline Kahn who later became a relatively famous Hollywood actress. 52 seconds of silliness it is.

This is a short clip from my 1st feature length documentary (it won the critics prize at Cannes that year) starring a local insurance man from my community on a “junket” to Las Vegas. Here he is getting a massage and commenting on the women he has “picked up” while there. At the time, the technique I use was very controversial. Some reviewers loved the film. Others “hated” it.
