The much anticipated start of Team Racing on Sept 9th of I14 Worlds was delayed due to light wind from the east of about 5 knots. Wind speed picked up in the afternoon and the sailors headed out into the lake at 2 p.m. A clean start for Race 1 for Team GER and Team GBR2 with GER 230 hooking the 2nd mark. GBR2 won on Tiebreaker and then Team GBR1 went on to beat out AUS on the next flight, with GBR1544 rounding the 1st mark and GBR1519 in the lead to finish the race.
Team GER was then pitted against Team GBR1 in the 2nd flight of races with Team GBR1 leading around the first four marks and Team GER rounding the last four marks ahead of Team GBR1, however GBR1 took this next race with total of 10 points.
Next up was Team Canada1 vs Team Canada2 including USA1185, with Canada1 taking the tiebreaker for the win. In the third flight, Canada2 vs. GBR2 there was some excitement at the 2nd mark - some spinnakers went up and boats came close together rounding the 3rd mark. Arguably the best race of the day, Canada2 took the win.
Team Canada1 then went up against Team Australia with boat GBR1519 for Team AUS, leading around the 1st mark and in the end beating out Canada1 for the win.
The final two races of the day saw Team Australia take the lead over Team Canada2 despite close quarters rounding the 4th mark and a missed start for the last race of the day with Team GBR2 falling to Canada1 with total of 23-13.
