Many methods of altering sound in a movie file require you to re-export the entire video again. This means recompressing the video, which will degrade image quality, will take a long time, and is also totally unnecessary!
Apple no longer include QuickTime Pro in their standard OS X install, but (at time of writing) you can still get it, and it's cheap and very useful. In this video I explain how I use it to alter the audio in a video quickly whilst leaving the video untouched.
Keen-eared multimedians will spot a lot of "plosives" in my audio - I was experimenting with a recording technique which I think I won't be using again!
